Dark Incandescence

2022 - This is an animation commissioned by the Denver Theater District for Night Lights Denver.

At the bottom ring of a dismal infrastructure, A girl sways back and forth, holding her stomach. Unable to keep this sickness in, she spews out a fiery dragon. She imagines the fire of the creature burning away her features, her body submerged and evaporating into the fire. So she runs, scaling the slanted inclines of the murky building. The dragon follows close behind, increasingly growing in size. It grabs, pops, and barrels itself at her as the infrastructure beneath them crumbles. The light of the evening sky blinds her as she clears the final level. She faces the dragon, and it stops; the two in a stalemate. Finally, she jumps into its mouth.

This piece is about running away, suppressing or avoiding something for fear of the pain it will cause. The scene came to me as I was, early on in the pandemic, spending my days taking peoples’ temperatures in a dark, cold garage.

The New You

2021 - The New You for Nick Flaherty (Freelance)

I made all of the character animation for this project.

WOLO

(above) Two animation tests for character ‘Wolo.’ Model and rig done by Nicholas Ian Flaherty. All else done by me.

2020,2021 - WOLO is a collaborative project between me and Nicholas Ian Flaherty. Wolo, an ambitious tardigrade living in a corporate human world, is sent to different planets to collect the valuable resource of murp for the company he works for, Murp Corp (MORP). WOLO will be a playful, goofy, but surprisingly deep 3D platformer made in Unreal Engine.

WHIRLIGIG

2019 - WHIRLIGIG is a piece about alienation and the fragmented self of the modern era. As our main character attempts tirelessly to wash away themself indulging in escapist comfort, an image of perfection is ever-looming. Freedom from this destruction of self may be found in its confrontation.

Cardinal Capricious

2019 - In Sara Roth’s Cardinal Capricious, seemingly static and decorative objects dance and play for the camera. When the camera loses its curiosity of the room’s contents, the environment evolves and objects play for themselves.

Lets go

Runescape Date

2018- Runescape Date is a collaborative piece between Sara Shoshana Roth (Animation) and Olivia Grace Orzechowski (music). Contemporary trash objects are assembled into a complex structure while Kenny sings a plea, “Lets go on a date?”
